Commodore Khalid Pervez has taken over as the PNS Mehran base commander.

His predecessor Raja Tahir will be assigned new responsibilities. The high level body will also record the statement of Raja Tahir. The statements of two officials have been recorded during the investigation.Police, on the other hand, refused to reduce the number of accused in the FIR.The investigation also revealed the attackers targeted Orion planes. They have also brought first aid kits with them.Initial probe revealed the militants used foreign weapons. The weapons recovered from attackers will be sent for forensic tests to ascertain whether those were newly bought weapons or not and how many bullets were fired by them.The police have also rejected the request by navy officials to reduce the number of attackers as it was not possible. Law doesn’t permit to reduce the number of accused as numbers could be reduced after the completion of investigation in the challan which is presented before the court.
