Dividing, weakening OIC not Pakistan's agenda, clarifies FM Qureshi
"Pakistan aims to play an important role in reuniting Muslim ummah," said Qureshi.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi rejected claims of mistrust between Saudi Arabia and Pakistan, and said that it is not Pakistan’s agenda to weaken or split the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Speaking exclusively in Dunya News’ program Ikhtalafi Note, he expressed that Pakistan maintains friendly relations with all Muslim countries including Turkey and Malaysia. He added that even Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had a successful visit to Pakistan.
He further mentioned that some Muslim countries are at odds with each other, and certain factions do not want Pakistan and other countries to have prosperous relations. "Pakistan aims to play an important role in reuniting Muslim ummah," he said, adding that Pakistan also intends to resolve various issues including KSA-Iran tension and Qatar blockade.
FM Qureshi expressed that Pakistan is a founding member of OIC and it was never intention of Pakistan to weaken the organization.
