The top court had disqualified Talal Chaudhry after he was found guilty for contempt of court.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court on Thursday turned down review petition of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Talal Chaudhry against his sentence awarded in contempt of court case.

A five-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Musheer Alam took up the review petition of Talal Chaudhry.

The petition was submitted by the PML-N leader’s lawyer who presented his stance, however, the court rejected the petition.

It is pertinent here to mention that last year, a bench of top court had disqualified Chaudhry after he was found guilty for contempt of court and was handed over a sentence till the rising of the court.

The sentence by a three-judge bench of the apex court headed by Justice Gulzar Ahmed renders Talal Chaudhry disqualified to hold public office for a period of five years.
