Firdous reaches Jeddah to attend OICs golden jubilee celebrations

JEDDAH (Dunya News) - Prime Minister s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan reached Jeddah on Monday on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia, Dunya News reported.
Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan will represent Pakistan in the OIC’s golden jubilee celebrations.
She was received at the Jeddah airport by Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, Raja Ali Ijaz, Permanent Representative to Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Rizwan Saeed Sheikh and officials of the consulate.
Speaking on the occasion, she said that the Muslim Ummah should adopt a comprehensive and collective strategy to counter Islamophobia. The narrative linked with Islamophobia was a serious threat to the world peace and there was need to promote the real message of Islam to tackle that issue, she said
She further said that the attempt to desecrate the Holy Quran in Norway was a deplorable and condemnable incident and added that she would raise this issue in the OIC meeting.
She said Pakistan will also engage the OIC about ongoing Indian atrocities in Indian-occupied Kashmir where Kashmiris have been detained since last 113 days.
She said a special message of Prime Minister Imran Khan will be conveyed in the meeting to play its due role to lift curfew from the held valley and ensure basic human rights to detained Kashmiris.
