"1235 references filed by the NAB are pending before different courts," he mentioned.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman retired justice Javed Iqbal on Thursday urged for the need to distinguish legitimate businessmen from fraudsters in the guise of inventors.

“Out of the 1235 references, not even 35 references are related to businessmen,” he said, while addressing the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI).

“If NAB doesn’t consider the miseries of affectees of housing society, who would they approach [for help],” he said, adding that several fake housing societies had looted even life savings of widows and pensioners.

“[All fraudsters] escaped to Dubai and moved from there to other countries […] there are also those housing societies which own not even a yard of land, but distributed 100,000 forms,” he added.

“We had initiated accountability from the NAB at first […] 1235 references filed by the NAB are pending before different courts,” he mentioned.
