Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate much awaited Kartarpur corridor on November 9.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate much awaited Kartarpur corridor on November 9, official twitter handle of PTI said.
Pakistan believes in promoting religious harmony and peace in the region. Pakistan is all set to become religious hub for Sikhs from all across globe, construction work on Kartarpur project enters final stages and will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan for Sikh community on 9th November.
Earlier, Pakistan formally invited former prime minister of India Manmohan Singh to attend the opening ceremony of Kartarpur Corridor on the occasion of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak.
Speaking at a weekly briefing, Foreign Office spokesman said decisions on other invitations are yet to be taken.
"Let me also reiterate that Kartarpur Saheb project is expected to be completed on time and the opening will take place as committed by the Prime Minister of Pakistan," said the spokesman.
Kartarpur Corridor is a proposed border corridor between Pakistan and India connecting the Sikh shrines of Dera Baba Nanak Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
In November last year, Prime Minister Imran Khan laid the foundation stone for the corridor, months after he assumed office after winning majority of seats in the parliament.
India s cricketer-turned-politician Navjot Singh Sidhu and other officials had attended the ceremony.
