Pakistani figures laud PM Imran for his historic UNGA speech

LAHORE (Dunya News) – After the historical speech of Prime Minister Imran Khan at the 74th United Nations Assembly General (UNGA) session, many important figures of Pakistan lauded his transparency and bravery to raise voice on various issues including Kashmir on such a high level diplomatic forum.

State Minister for Climate Change Zartaj Gul said that credit goes to Prime Minister Imran Khan for raising the most complicated Kashmir issue at international level effectively. She took to Twitter and expressed, Speechless. Just saying... If I were not born in the era of Quaid e Azam. I have born in the era of Imran Khan”.

Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar also took to internet and praised PM Imran for being a true spokesperson for Islam and Pakistan, “@ImranKhanPTI proved to be a true spokesman for Islam & Pakistan today. He is definitely an ambassador for peace in the subcontinent. He is becoming a world leader. Hats off to our Prime Minister and how he addressed such a big issue.”

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader, Jahangir Khan Tareen, expressed on Twitter, “For the first time in our history, the miseries of Kashmiri people are being narrated effectively at the global stage”. “"PM IK has remained fully true to his commitment. He has championed Kashmir Cause in the best possible manner," he added.

Singer Fakhr-e-Alam expressed PM Imran, "PM @ImranKhanPTI just clean bowled the lies of @narendramodi and hit all his doubters/haters for a SIX. His closing sentences were the roar of a lion. Pakistani commentator and veteran cricketer Ramiz Raja delighted by PM Imran s speech expressed, “Nailed it absolutely Mr Khan! Wow.”

Sports analyst Zainab Abbas also praised PM Imran Khan for his speech, “What a speech!”

Human Rights Minister, Shireen Mazari wrote, "Amazing speech by PM IK - striaght talking, blunt, compassionate - exposing hypocrisy of developed world on climate change & money laundering safe havens; challenging Islamophobia; & most hard hitting on IOJK exposing India as no Pak ldr has ever done."

Lawyer and social activist Jibran Nasir said PM Imran "convincingly used #UNGA to not only explain reasons for atrocities in #Kashmir by India under BJP & brutal conditions there but also rightly expressed his fears of a fallout.

So glad that we have a leader who so eloquently put our case to the world. The UN has to take heed & end the oppression in Kashmir. Actress Neelum Muneer took to Instagram and said that PM Imran warned the world and exposed Modi terrorists government.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed that Prime Minister Imran Khan has effectively conveyed the voice of the oppressed Kashmiris to the world’s largest diplomatic forum ‘UN General Assembly’.

Talking to the media, she said that the PM Imran’s speech was courageous and we are proud of him. She added that PM Imran played the role of conveying the true meaning of Muslim Ummah and we congratulate his entire team.

The Convener of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Syed Abdullah Gilani, has said that PM Imran Khan, in his address to the UN General Assembly has effectively represented the aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Syed Abdullah Gilani expressed said that Imran Khan had fulfilled his promise of going across the world as an ambassador of Kashmiris. He added that the Prime Minister’s speech in the UNGA had boosted the morale of the Kashmiri people engaged in a peaceful struggle of securing their right to self-determination.

Syed Abdullah Gilani thanked Imran Khan on behalf of the leadership of All Parties Hurriyat Conference for highlighting in an effective manner the Kashmir dispute and the sufferings faced by the people of occupied Kashmir due to continued curfew, restrictions and communication blockade imposed by India in the territory.

Prime Minister Imran Khan while addressing the UN General Assembly said that anything could happen if a conventional war starts between the Indian and Pakistan but supposing a country seven times smaller than its neighbor is faced with the choice: either you surrender, or you fight for your freedom till death?

Addressing the United Nations General Assembly, he said, "What will we do? I ask myself these questions. We will fight... and when a nuclear-armed country fights to the end, it will have consequences far beyond the borders."
