Pakistan born American Sher Ali who arrested for links with militants is from Swat.

His daughter Amna says his family has nothing to do with terrorists.US FBI has arrested Sher Ali and his two sons for alleged links with terrorists. They are held for financing militants. Resident of Swat, Amna BB lives in a village Galooch where she talked to media along with her brother Ali Rehman and son Alam Zeb. She rejected all the allegations. She informed her father established a religious school about 30 years ago for girls and whose expenses he himself met.
