'It is time for international community to act for Kashmir before it is too late': Maleeha Lodhi.
NEW YORK (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Maleeha Lodhi said the issue of Kashmir is on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC), and urged the international community to act before it is too late.
Maleeha Lodhi said, “We have raised this with the Secretary General of the UN. We are raising it in all the capitals that we can reach. And what we are saying is [to] prevent a bigger crisis from erupting. Because already there is a human rights crisis and humanitarian crisis in occupied Kashmir.”
“The issue of Kashmir has also been on the agenda of the Security Council. It is time of the international community to act. It is time for them to act before it is too late.”
Maleeha Lodhi said it is responsibility of the Security Council to ensure the implementation of its resolutions over Kashmir, and stressed that Kashmiris will demand India to leave the valley whenever the curfew is ended.
The people of Kashmir cannot be deprived of their right to self-determination by occupying their land and using force against them, she affirmed.
