May 12 incident: Lawyers boycott courts

The lawyers observed black day all over the country to show solidarity with May 12, 2007 victims by boycotting the court proceedings. In Karachi, the lawyers observed the day by wearing black armbands. They also waved black flags in courts to mark the May 12 incident in the city. They were of the view that the sacrifices of the lawyers would always be remembered.In Lahore, meetings were held in bar rooms to condemn the incident. Meanwhile, proceedings of the important cases were not disturbed in Lahore. The lawyers boycotted the courts in Quetta, Mastung, Qallat, Khuzdar, Lasbela and Sibi on the call of the Balochistan Bar Association. In Peshawar, the lawyer arranged a meeting to mark the day.
