India committed violations of UN resolutions on Kashmir: Maleeha

Lodhi said as per the UN charter and clauses, India couldn't amend the status of Kashmir.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations (UN), Maleeha Lodhi said that India has committed violations of the UN resolutions on Kashmir, besides sabotaging peace efforts achieved by Pakistan for the entire region.

Talking to a private news channel, she said step by step diplomacy was being put in place to address the longstanding issue of Kashmir.

She said Kashmir issue should be resolved as per the charter of the United Nations, and “the Kashmiris’ struggle for the right to self-determination is part of the charter.”

Replying to a question, Lodhi said as per the UN charter and clauses, India couldn’t amend the status of Kashmir.

She said the western media and the general public have criticised India for gross violations of human rights in Kashmir and changing its status.
