Sheikh Rashid announces to suspend Samjhauta Express train service.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Following New Delhi’s move to scrap India-occupied Kashmir’s (IoK) autonomy, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has on Thursday announced to suspend the Samjhauta Express train service.
The federal minister held a press conference in Islamabad and reiterated that Pakistan wants peace, not war. The passengers who have purchased advance tickets will be refunded and the bogies of the Samjhauta Express will be used to facilitate passengers on Eid, he said.
Sheikh Rashid added he was not aware of Maryam Nawaz’s arrest. He affirmed that those who plundered national money must be held accountable and the opposition cannot be given any relaxation regarding corruption cases.
