The governor said that peace couldn't be achieved by suppressing people's sentiments using force.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Punjab Governor Chaudhry Sarwar said on Wednesday that the Indian Government s act of scrapping the special status of occupied Jammu and Kashmir was “illegal and in clear violation of international law.”

Addressing a Peace Conference in Lahore, he asserted that the blatant move by India was against United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

The governor said that peace couldn’t be achieved by suppressing people s sentiments using ‘brutal’ force.

He said that he has personally contacted EU leaders and parliamentarian and apprised them about worsening situation in occupied Jammu & Kashmir and atrocities being committed by Indian occupied forces.
