Six killed, several injured in rain-related incidents in Punjab

Rain water has inundated low-lying areas in different cities of Punjab including Lahore.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least six people were killed and several others wounded in rain-related incidents across Punjab on Sunday.

As per the details, in first incident, two brothers were killed and another injured when the wall of their house caved in in Salanwali’s Chak 134 of Sargodha. The area residents pulled the bodies and wounded and shifted them to hospital.

In Sheikhupura, the roof of houses collapsed in cities different areas, resulting in the injuries of 10 people. They were shifted to hospital for medical assistance.

In Faisalabad’s Samundari Road, a man was killed, while his six goats also killed under the rubble when the roof of his house caved in.

In Wazirabad’s Langiyanwali area, a 17-year-old youth drowned in water when was he heading towards his house along with his friends.

In Dera Ghazi Khan’s Kot Chattha area, two girls drowned while talking bath in River Sindh. Rescue teams have launched search for the drowned girls.

On the other hand, the rain water has also inundated low-lying areas in different cities of Punjab including Lahore.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) stated widespread rains/wind-thunderstorm (with isolated heavy falls) is expected in Islamabad, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Kashmir.
