Marriyum reacts to Daily Mail's article against Shehbaz as 'baseless'
Contrarily, several senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lashed out at Shehbaz.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb on Sunday, reacting to an article published in Britain-based publication Daily Mail, termed it as “baseless and a propaganda campaign.”
Aurangzeb, held a press conference, and claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan had published the article through a controversial Lahore-based journalist. [She didn’t mention the name].
“Everyone knows about the credibility of the Daily Mail,” she said, adding that the real news was regarding the 18 fake [bank] accounts of PM Khan, the fear of which has spread.
“You can’t fail the [yesterday’s] strike [observed by traders across several cities of Pakistan] by publishing such news…Khan saab try some other move,” she further said, adding that the tactic of false and baseless media trial has failed. Marriyum said a legal action would be taken against PM Imran Khan and his assistant Shehzad Akbar for such baseless allegations.
Contrarily, several senior leaders of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lashed out at the president of the PML-N, Shehbaz Sharif, over the claims made in the report.
Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi said on Sunday that the incumbent government would not compromise and those who were involved in the money laundering would be taken to task.
Talking exclusively to the national television regarding the news published about Shehbaz Sharif s involvement in money laundering in the British newspaper Daily Mail, he said that the money looted from national exchequer and stashed abroad by these politicians belong to the people of Pakistan.
