Eighty percent work on Kartarpur Corridor has been completed: FO

PM Imran will meet United States President Donald Trump on July 22 during his visit to US, said FO.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Thursday has said that eighty percent work on the Kartarpur Corridor has been completed while delegation from Pakistan and India will hold another round of talk on the matter on July 14.

During a weekly briefing, foreign office spokesman Dr Mohammad Faisal said that speculations are being spread regarding Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan’s visit to Russia, however, the formal announcement will be made soon in this regard.

He also told that PM Imran will meet United States President Donald Trump on July 22 during his visit to US.

He said the visit will help renew and reinvigorate long standing ties between Pakistan and the United States. The meeting will contribute towards building a broad based, long term and enduring partnership between the two countries on the basis of mutual interest and mutual benefit, he went on to say.

The spokesman said that the International Court of Justice will give its judgment in Kulbhushan Yadav case on the 17th of this month. He said we cannot prejudge the judgment but said Pakistan fully contested the case before the ICJ.

Referring to the Indian atrocities in occupied Kashmir, the Foreign Office Spokesperson said that Pakistan has welcomed the second report of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights which has once again recognized the grave human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir.

Dr Mohammad Faisal said Pakistan is happy over the progress in the Afghan peace process, adding that Pakistan’s facilitative role in talks has been acknowledged and appreciated. We believe in an Afghan led and Afghan owned solution of Afghan conflict, he stated.

When asked about the Iran nuclear deal, the spokesman hoped that all the parties to the agreement will be able to take effective measures to ensure its full compliance and resolve all outstanding issues through negotiations.
