PM reviews progress on Naya Pakistan Housing Program
Steps are being taken to ensure the participation of overseas Pakistanis in the project: PM
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Prime Minister Imran Khan says Naya Pakistan Housing Program is flagship project of the government to overcome housing shortage and accelerate economic process and job creation in the country.
He was chairing a meeting on Naya Pakistan Housing Program in Islamabad on Monday to review its progress.
The Prime Minister said the dream of low income people and poor families will be realized through the housing program. Imran Khan said special steps are being taken to ensure participation of overseas Pakistanis in the project.
The meeting overviewed the progress on legal, administrative and other matters regarding implementation of Naya Pakistan Housing Program.
Chairing the first meeting of Ehsas Steering Committee in Islamabad on Monday, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that Ehsaas Program, launched first time in the history of Pakistan, is aimed to provide possible facilitations to the poor segment of the society.
He said under this project, the vulnerable segment of the society will uplift and the needs of the needy people will be provided.
He said the government has also decided to carry out the survey of poverty to fine real figures about poverty status in the country.
Earlier, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation Dr Sania Nishtar briefed the meeting that Ehsaas Program is for the extreme poor, orphans, widows, the homeless, the disabled, those who risk medical impoverishment, for the jobless, for the sick and undernourished and for students from low-income backgrounds.
