PTI first govt to have started billion trees project: PM
PM said that his government has started the billion tree tsunami.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Friday has said that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was the first party that understood tree planting phenomenon in Pakistan.
In a tweet, PM said that his government has started the billion tree tsunami. “For the future of our generations, we must all strive to make our 10 billion tree tsunami a success,” he requested the people.

It is to be mentioned here that Billion Trees Afforestation Project that commenced since November 2014 is the game changer and flagship project of the green sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
The project is naturally restoring a previously deforested landscape, which will also assist in meeting the present and future needs and offers multiple benefits for climate adaptation and mitigation.
It has paved way for smooth transformation of current economic growth model to green economy.
The project has also been recognised globally in the fight against climate change hazards.
