Shehbaz demanded the authorities to immediately present Rana Sanaullah before the concerned court

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Monday while strongly condemning the arrest of party’s Punjab president Rana Sanaullah, termed it an example of lawlessness and political revenge.

Reacting to Rana Sanaullah’s arrest, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of setting another example of using national institutions against his political opponents.

He said that using the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and now the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) to arrest and pressurize the political opponents is regrettable.

Shehbaz demanded the authorities to immediately present Rana Sanaullah before the concerned court and informed the court on what charges he was arrested. He accused that PM Imran Khan’s personal grudge was exposed with the arrest of the PML-N Punjab president.

On the other hand, PML-N vice president Maryam Nawaz said that party loyalist Rana Sanaullah was arrested for holding a bold and courageous stand.

In her tweet, she asked what has Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) got to do with Rana Sanaullah, adding that it could not get more absurd.

Lashing out at Prime Minister Imran Khan, Maryam said that the "Jaali-e-Azam (fake prime minister) being the small and petty man is directly behind his arrest."

She said: “What has ANF got to do with Rana Sanaullah? It could not get more absurd. He has been arrested for his bold & courageous stance. Jaali-e-Azam being the small & petty minded man that he is, is directly behind his arrest. Make no mistake.”

Talking to Dunya News, PML-N leader Ahsan Iqbal strongly condemned Rana Sanaullah’s arrest and said that such tactics weakens the regime. He said: “We know how to face such tactics and the PML-N is not afraid.”

The PML-N’s every worker is brave, he said and added we have faced former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf’s Marshal Law. We have summoned a high-level meeting of party tomorrow (Tuesday).

Ahsan Iqbal accused the government of using national institutions against its political opponents.
