PM Imran, Indian PM Modi greet at SCO summit
FM Qureshi said that premier Khan met several heads including Indian PM Modi on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
BISHKEK (Dunya News) - Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that premier Imran Khan met Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in an informal short meeting where Pakistan discussed negotiations for bilateral ties.
According to the details, FM Qureshi said that premier Khan met several heads including Indian PM Modi on the sidelines of Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit.
“We have presented what we could, decision for talks depends on India now,” he expressed.
PM Khan stayed busy at the SCO summit when he shook hands with Indian PM Modi and exchanged words awhile.
FM Qureshi expressed that it was just an informal meeting and it shows our good worldly behavior towards others. “We have no hurry or any problem, we will negotiate whenever India is ready to talk”, he asserted.
Talking to media in Bishkek, the foreign minister said that Pakistan will not go behind New Delhi government if the Indian authorities avoid talks.
Meanwhile, Qureshi also urged the Pakistani community to play its due role to highlight soft image of the country.
Imran Khan said Kashmir is the main difference between Pakistan and India and both countries should sit on the negotiating table to resolve that issue peacefully.
Now elections in India are over and both countries should get back on the dialogue table to resolve the Kashmir issue for peace in the region by giving people of Kashmir right of self-determination as guaranteed by the United Nations, he went on to say.
