LAHORE (Dunya News) – Federal Minister for Communications and Postal Services Murad Saeed said on Thursday that the first case he is going to present in Prime Minister Imran Khan’s inquiry commission will be the alleged corruption case against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal
Talking in DunyaNews’ programme ‘Nuqta-e-Naza’, he expressed that every corrupt will be held accountable in the inquiry commission. He said that government suffered billion of rupees loss in Sukkur section while loss of over Rs50 billion happened in one of the projects.
Communication Minister asserted that Ahsan Iqbal claimed to answer all the questions in the Parliament but PML-N member does not answer anything whenever he goes to Parliament. He further said that Ahsan Iqbal claimed to go the court but he will not go there either. “I won’t let him forget it”, he added.
Murad Saeed said he will inquire about Rs24 trillion debts spent in last 10 years. “Ahsan Iqbal’s case will be presented first in the inquiry commission”, he expressed.
Earlier today, Murad Saeed levelled corruption allegations worth billions against Ahsan Iqbal.
The federal minister said the time has come for Ahsan Iqbal to get worried. He claimed that projects were awarded to the contractors who sent money to fake bank accounts, and vowed to bring forth details of the loans that were taken in the past by his ministry.
Murad Saeed claimed that no major projects were launched during the last ten years, and informed that their audit is being held.
“Corruption of Rs50 billion was done in one project. Rs430 crores have been recovered and the process is ongoing. The cases that are being interrogated by the National Accountability bureau will also be forwarded to the commission.
“The revenue of the National Highway Authority (NHA) has been increased by Rs11.5 billion and austerity measures have been taken upon Prime Minister Imran Khan’s directions.
“I am not using any official car and not taking salary of the additional charge that I hold. Prime Minister Imran Khan is fighting our war against the corrupt elements who looted the country in the past.”
