ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) said inflation has accelerated by 1.3 percent in May as compared to April this year.
PBS in its report said the inflation has increased by 9.1 percent in May 2019 as compared to May 2018.
The bureau said sensitive price index increased by 10.8 % while inflation rate in whole sale sector remained at 14%. The increase in inflation rate from July to May remained at 7.2 %.
The report said onion price increased by 78% in one year, tomatoes by 46% and pulse moong by 34%. In one year, the report said price of sugar increased by 27%, vegetables by 20%, fruits by 20% and meat by 13 %.
