Parliament should not be used as shield for corruption: Firdous Awan
In a tweet, Dr Firdous said that Maryam Nawaz is afraid of Imran Khans success as prime minister.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan criticized opposition on Friday saying that they wanted the democratic right to speak for themselves in the House, but they are not ready to give this right to the members of government.
While responding to the disturbance caused by opposition in the National Assembly, she expressed that those who were raucously crying for the democracy have no courage to listen to what others have to say.
She further said that opposition always cry to hold a session and when a session is held, they have nothing to do in the it except to fulfill their agenda of creating chaos and fight in the NA.
SAPM Firdous asserted that opposition should play their democratic role in the Parliamentary sessions, which are convened by the tax of masses, rather than talking about criminals who conducted serious crimes against the national institution. Parliament is not a wresting ring but a respectable House which should not be used as a shield to defend the corruption of families, she added.
She expressed that opposition should leave its weary ways and play a responsible role to resolve the problems of masses. “When judiciary has to decide a matter of its own, so how it could be considered an attack on it?” she added.
She said that it is unfortunate to look after politics in the constitutional matters. There is no one above the accountability in the Naya Pakistan. “Prime Minister Imran Khan struggled for the independence of judiciary and stayed determined for it”, she added. She expressed that they firmly believe in the freedom of judiciary, rule of law and constitutions, and respecting the institutions.
Earlier, Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) vice president Maryam Nawaz expressed her frustration with indecent language.
In a tweet, Dr Firdous said that Maryam Nawaz is afraid of Imran Khan’s success as prime minister.
