PM discusses federal development budget in NSC meeting

Members deliberated on extending the duration of special forum for the rehabilitation of tribal area

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan on Wednesday chaired National Economic Council meeting in Islamabad.

During the meeting, the participants discussed federal development budget for the next fiscal year while they also deliberated on extending the duration of special forum for the rehabilitation of tribal areas.

Adviser on Finance Hafeez Sheikh, Planning Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Adviser on Commerce Abdul Razaq Dawood, Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar, the Chief Ministers of the four provinces and Gilgit Baltistan and the Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir attended the meeting.  

In the previous meeting, PM Imran fully supported ongoing efforts towards a sustainable and lasting resolution of country’s economic issues.

Matters pertaining to security situation along the Pak-Afghan border came under discussion during the meeting.

The members also talked on the geo-strategic environment with special reference to recent developments in the region and reiterated that Pakistan shall continue all its efforts towards regional peace and stability.
