Gallup Survey: Punjab CM Usman Buzdar outperforms all other Chief Ministers

LAHORE (Web Desk) - According to the latest survey conducted by Gallup Pakistan, CM Punjab Usman Buzdar has topped performance charts against Chief Minister Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

The survey was conducted by Gallup on the holistic performance of all chief ministers in the previous year.

37 percent of population termed CM Usman Buzdar’s performance good, followed by Chief Minister KP at 34 percent, Chief Minister Balochistan at 30 percent and then Chief Minister Sindh 27 percent.

According to survey, 37% respondents had a positive opinion about the performance of Punjab’s Chief Minister in the previous year. 23% respondents said that the performance was appropriate, while 31% had a negative opinion.

27% respondents were of the opinion that the performance of Sindh’s Chief Minister was positive in the previous year. 30% said that the performance was appropriate, and 30% held a negative view.

34% respondents had a positive opinion about the performance of KPK’s Chief Minister in the previous year. 27% had a negative view, while 22% thought the performance was appropriate.

30% respondents approve of Balochistan’s Chief Minister’s performance in the previous year. 25% were dissatisfied with the performance, and 21% said that the performance was appropriate. 24% said they did not know or did not wish to respond.

About Usman Buzdar:

Sardar Usman Buzdar had previously served served as District Nazim of Taunsa Sharif from 2001 to 2008. He belongs to the Buzdar clan, which is a Baloch tribe.

Education:

Received his early education from Government Boys Primary School in Barthi, Punjab. He completed his Intermediate-level education from a Government College in Multan.

He received a master’s degree in political science from Bahauddin Zakariya University and received a degree of bachelor of laws from the Law College, Multan.

Journey with PTI:

He joined Janoobi Punjab Suba Mahaz prior to the 2018 general election. Janoobi Punjab Suba Mahaz merged with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in May 2018. Buzdar joined PTI and was allocated PTI ticket to contest the 2018 general election from Constituency PP-286 Dera Ghazi Khan-II

He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Punjab as a candidate of PTI from Constituency PP-286. He received 26,897 votes. On 17 August 2018, Imran Khan nominated him as PTI’s candidate for the office of Chief Minister of Punjab.

He was elected as the Chief Minister of Punjab after he received 186 votes against his opponent Hamza Shahbaz Sharif who secured 159 votes. He was sworn in as Chief Minister of Punjab on 20 August 2018.
