Fake accounts case: Arrest Bhutto House worker burst into tears in court

The accountability court handed over the accused to the NAB on physical remand till May 6.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The accountability court today (Tuesday) sent Nadeem Bhutto, a Bhutto House worker, on physical remand till May 6 in the fake accounts case.

Accused, who works at Bhutto House in Naudero, adopted the stance of being innocent in the matter. He expressed that he is just a poor worker who cannot even afford a lawyer.

Accused bursting into tears claimed that he was unaware of source of the money and officials should inquire his masters. To which judge Arshad Malik remarked that they also will be questioned.

NAB prosecutor told in court, “His account had Rs7,450,000 which is way too much for just a house servant”. Accused replied in his defence that money was transferred to his accout for household expenses.

The judge questioned him, “Does this much money is required to handle household expenses?”. He also questioned ” You did not know from where the money was coming?”

Judge stated that the matter is not a joke and he should inform the court about the expendiures. “Who will be gulity if we find some heroin on you?, added judge Arshad Malik.

To which accused replied, “I will be guilty of the heroin but in this case I thought that my master was transferring the money in my account, not someone else.”

“I am just an innocent servant. I work for Rs20,000 at Bhutto House”. He added, “I came to know about the problem when Joint Investigation Team (JIT) started investigating into the matter.”
