Members affected by cabinet reshuffle remain absent from party meeting
Former Finance Minister and ex- health Minister also did not attend the meeting
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s first party meeting after a recent reshuffle of Ministers held at Bani Gala under PM Imran Khan on Saturday.
Several party leaders did not attend the meeting which discussed the matters pertaining to current political situation and economy.
The ministers affected by Premier’s decision in recent cabinet reshuffle were absent from the meeting. The absentees include Fawad Chaudhary, Shehriyar Afridi and Ghulam Sarwar.
Former Finance Minister and ex- health Minister also did not attend the meeting that discussed the political situation after their removal.
PM Imran Khan took the senior leadership of PTI into confidence over the recent change in Federal cabinet.
It is worth noting that Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday changed and re-allocated the portfolios of several ministers of the federal cabinet.
Fawad Chaudhary who held Information Ministry earlier, was given the portfolio of Minister for Science and Technology, while Ghulam Sarwar was made Minister for Aviation.

Ijaz Ahmed Shah was appointed Minister for Interior and Shehryar Afridi Minister of State for SAFRON.
Mohammad Mian Soomro was made Minister for Privatization and he will also hold additional portfolio of Aviation Division.
Azam swati has been appointed as Minister for Parliamentary Affairs, while Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh as Advisor on Finance.
Dr Zafarullah Mirza has been appointed as Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services, while Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Nadeem Babar on Petroleum Division.
Ex Finance Czar, Asad Umer stepped down and is no more a member of cabinet.
Sheikh rashid after meeting
After the meeting, Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid told media that PM took important decisions for the betterment of economy of Pakistan.
The Minister said he will try to convince Asad Umer to join cabinet again adding that Fawad Chaudhary stands with party.
Sheikh Rashid expressed that only one minster was removed. Health Minister Amir Kyani was removed due to recent hike in the price of medicines, he added.
Criticizing the opposition, Rawalpindi based politician said the bad economic condition of country is due to bad policies of Nawaz Sharif and Asif Zardari. He said poor economic condition leads to dismemberment of countries.
He also clarified that CM of Punjab and KPK are not being changed.
Fidous Asiq Awan clarifies:
The special assistant to PM Imran on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan told media after the meeting that a detailed discussion was held to resolve public problems.
She said that Umer Ayub has been given additional portfolio of Petroleum Ministry, adding that Finance advisor Dr Sheikh was given some economic targets.
Awan expressed that Fawad Ch did not attend the meeting due to a busy schedule in Lahore. Asal Umer will return soon, she added.
PTI leader said that masses will soon get relief from the burden of inflation. Government ensuring a relief for public in next budget, she said.
She further said PM Imran Kahn will inaugurate Housing scheme in Quetta tomorrow.
She continued that Government can’t run without opposition and it should show some responsibility by giving positive suggestions. Government will extend full support to opposition, she added.
