12 die as rains, gusty winds wreak havoc across country

At least 12 persons were killed in rain related incidents across the country on Monday.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – At least 12 persons were killed and dozens other were wounded as heavy rains and gusty winds lashed different parts of the country on Monday, Dunya News reported.

According to details, one person was killed in Shadbagh area of Lahore when wall of a house collapsed due to heavy rain. At least 16 people were also wounded in rain-related incidents in the city.





Many parts of Lahore were also plunged into darkness as power supply was disrupted due to rain. According to LESCO, more than 150 feeders tripped due to rain.

At least four people were killed in Khanewal in roofs and wall collapse incident while three labourers died when wall of a factory collapsed in Hasilpur due to heavy rain. A man was electrocuted in Dunyapur when an electricity cable fell due to gusty winds.





At least 15 people were wounded in Multan, Shujabad, Manchanabad and Faisalabad in rain related incidents. According to FESCO more than 110 feeders tripped in Faisalabad due to rain.

Rain was also reported from Muzzaffargarh, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Toba Tek Singh, Pakpattan, Hujra Shah Muqeem and other parts of the country.

On the other hand, Frontier Corps (FC) personnel Monday rescued six persons who were stuck in a stream in Bolan after flash floods caused due to heavy rains.



At least three people were killed when a house collapsed in Chital due to landslide caused due to heavy rain.

Meanwhile, low-lying areas were submerged under rain water causing severe problems to the people while standing corps were also damaged in many parts of the country due to rain.
