Shehryar Afridi vows to eliminate terrorism, expresses solidarity with Hazara community
"Our enemy's agenda is to create instability in the country," he stated.
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Khan Afridi on Monday visited Quetta to express unity and solidarity with bereaved families of 20 martyrs, who had lost their lives in Hazarganji blast on Friday.
His visit came amid strong protest of the families along with scores of Hazara community members, who have been protesting for the implementation of the National Action Plan (NAP), arrest of the culprits and provision of security for their families.
He spoke to the media and asserted that enemies of Pakistan wanted to place Pakistan’s name on the ‘black list’ of the FATF.
"Attempts are being made to spread anarchy in the country and there is no doubt that the Hazara community has been subjected to barbarism,” he said, while assuring them of “standing shoulder-by-shoulder.”
"The state will take action against those responsible for the attack," he asserted. "The state will take every possible step for the elimination of terrorism and is also taking measures to protect all our borders," he went on to say.
“I would request the Hazara community to not doubt our intentions. The state will respect every native of Balochistan," Afridi added.
"We will go to any extent to take elements involved in terrorism to their logical conclusion," Afridi stressed. "We have to think regarding which powers in the country are making us fight among ourselves."
"Our enemy’s agenda is to create instability in the country," he stated.
At least 20 people were martyred and 48 other people sustained critical injuries in a blast targeting the Hazara community in Quetta’s Hazarganji vegetable market on Friday.
