Summary Amnesty scheme would get approval from the parliament after the budget session
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – PTI government is mulling over to launch a new amnesty scheme through a presidential order on April 15. The masses can get benefit from amnesty scheme till June 30, 2019.
According to the documents available with Dunya News, the tax on Benami properties inside the country would be 10% while for properties transferred from abroad would be 5%.
To legalize the illegal vehicles, Jewelry and machinery the tax percentage is set at 7.5%.

As per the document, all companies and individuals qualify for this scheme except the Public officer holder since January 2000, their spouses, children, siblings or lineal ascendant or descendants.
The money derived from the commission of a criminal offense would not fall in the ambit of scheme. Those people having cases pending before a court of law with the exception of older pending litigation will not be able to take benefit of the scheme.
Finance Minister Asad Umar was very clear about the scheme and said this will be the last chance for tax-evaders to disclose their Benami assets and properties and avoid being prosecuted. He announced to launch a full-fledged crackdown against the defaulters after the scheme.
It is worth noting that amnesty scheme launched by PML-N regime generated Rs124billion tax where properties valuing Rs1460billion inside the country and Rs1040billion abroad were declared.
