Fake accounts case: Court summons Hussain Syed, Younas Qidwai on April 19
Meanwhile, other accused persons have also been summoned to appear before the court.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – An accountability court in Islamabad on Thursday set April 19 as the date of hearing of the first reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in fake bank accounts case.
In this regard, Karachi’s ex-administrator Mohammad Hussain Syed and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s close aid Younas Qidwai have been summoned in the court.
Yesterday, the NAB filed a first reference against nine accused persons in the case, and according to sources, all of them have been directed to appear before the court.
The accused persons include four former and four current officers of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC).
Sources have revealed that Younas Qidwai had surrendered his property worth Rs600 million as he was charged with issuing illegal allotment letters registered for temple and library on the government property.
Qidwai has been found to be a business partner of Zardari in Park Lane Estate.
The NAB, during its Executive Board meeting, had approved six new references against Omni Group chief Anwar Majeed’s son Abdul Ghani Majeed.
The accused persons had inflicted loss of Rs42 billion to the national exchequer through fake bank accounts and illegal allotment of government land, the members were briefed.
