PM Imran chairs meeting to review progress on Kartarpur Corridor's construction work
Prime Minister Imran Khan said minorities in Pakistan have full liberty to follow their religions
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday presided over a meeting in Islamabad to review progress on Kartarpur Corridor construction work, Dunya News reported.
Finance Minister Asad Umar, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry, Minister for Religious Affairs Noorul Haq Qadri, Minister of Communications Murad Saeed, Foreign Office spokesperson and other high ranking officials were also present on the occasion.
The Prime Minister was informed that 1500 acres of Land has been allocated for the project. He was also informed that 6.8 kilometers road will be constructed for Kartarpur Corridor on the Pakistan side of border while an 800-metre long bridge will be built on River Ravi.
The meeting also reviewed a letter sent by former Indian cricketer and member of Punjab cabinet Navjot Singh Sidhu. The meeting also decided not to utilize 30 acres of land for construction work which was used by Baba Guru Nanak for cultivation.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Imran Khan said that minorities in Pakistan have full liberty to follow their religions and perform their religious obligations. He also directed the concerned authorities to complete Kartarpur Corridor’s construction work in time.
