Nandipur case: NAB prosecutor, Babar Awan exchange harsh words in court

Justice Arshad Malik expressed resentment on both for disturbing decorum of the court.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) prosecutor Mohammad Shabir and Babar Awan exchanged harsh words during Nandipur Power project hearing in accountability court.

According to details, the NAB prosecutor said, “It’s not a rally, the way Babar Awan is talking in the court” over which, Awan remarked, “I am not doing anything and standing quietly.”

Meanwhile, Justice Arshad Malik expressed resentment on both for disturbing decorum of the court.

Earlier, NAB court had indicted seven accused including former Prime Minister (PM) Raja Pervaiz Ashraf and Babar Awan in Nandipur Power Project reference.

It is to be mentioned here that the project remained a victim of delays since its inception.

In 2012, a one-man commission comprising retired Justice Rehmat Hussain Jafri had revealed in a report that due to the delays in the project, the national exchequer had suffered a loss of Rs113 billion.
