ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan earns less than chief ministers of all four provinces and federal ministers in his cabinet, a salary slip shows.
According to details, after adding the allowances the PM is entitled to the gross salary of Rs201,574 which is reduced to 196,979 after tax and other deductions.
His basic salary is Rs107280, and other allowances include Sumptuary Allowance of Rs50,000, Adhoc Relief Allowance of 21,456, Adhoc Allowance of 12,110 and Adhoc Releif All of 10,728.
The PM, since resuming the office, has adopted certain austerity measures and avoided unnecessary expenditures for saving government money.
He, while kicking off the austerity drive, announced to reside at the three-bed residence of the Military Secretary instead of the lavish Prime Minister House.
He had stated that none of the governors would reside in the governor house and ensure maximum austerity in the chief minister houses of the PTI-led provinces.
The resources saved by austerity measures are to be spent on welfare of the masses. The federal cabinet has also directed the ministries to continue austerity measures and cut expenditures by 10 percent as monitoring the expenditure could be vital to overcome the fiscal deficit.
