Handover of pilot Abhinandan mutually rescheduled on India's request: Sources

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Sources have revealed that time for handover of arrested Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was mutually rescheduled on Indian authorities request.

However, Amritsar Deputy Commissioner Shivdular Singh Dhillon confirmed that the pilot was handed over on the time as requested by India.
It is to be mentioned here that the pilot was handed over to India after 9pm at Wagah Border.
Teams of International Committee of Red Cross officials were also present on both sides of the border. Abhinanadan was expected to undergo medical examination after he crosses the border.
Abhinandan’s MiG-21 jet was shot down over Kashmir on Wednesday, after a dogfight in the skies over the disputed Himalayan region which sent tensions between India and Pakistan to their highest levels in years and alarmed world powers, who issued calls for restraint.
