Miftah Ismail appears before NAB in LNG scandal

The ex-minister has recorded his statement over 30 questions prepared by the NAB team.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – Former finance minister Miftah Ismail on Wednesday has appeared before National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) scandal.

According to sources, the ex-minister has recorded his statement over 30 questions prepared by the NAB team.

It is to be mentioned here that Supreme Court on September 10, 2018 had directed NAB to complete inquiry against former premier Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and others for alleged corruption in the LNG contract with Qatar.

In June 2018, the NAB had approved inquiry against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, former petroleum minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in granting contract of LNG terminal for 15 years to their favorite company.

It was also observed that this contract had caused loss of billions of rupees to the national exchequer.
