Federal cabinet decides to merge ERRA, NDMA
The cabinet reviewed a 17-point agenda.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan presided over a meeting of the federal cabinet in Islamabad and reviewed a 17-point agenda on Thursday.
According to details, the meeting discussed overall political and economic situation of the country.
The Prime Minister termed it the duty of government to protect the lives and property of the people. He vowed to to provide exemplary punishment to those responsible for Sahiwal tragedy.
Regarding the decisions taken at the cabinet meeting, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said it has been decided to merge Earthquake Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Authority (ERRA) into National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
He said Pakistan is being opened for the world for the first time, with mega changes in visa regime in the coming days.
The Minister said a sum of 58 million dollars has been approved for Pakistan Mortgage Refinance Company. This will also ensure finance for Naya Pakistan House Scheme of the government.
He said the cabinet approved the steps for constitution of New Media Regulatory Authority and also asked to hold consultation with journalistic associations to hear their views.
