Foreign properties of another 96 Pakistanis traced, FBR tells SC

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Federal Board of Revenue Pakistan (FBR) on Monday has informed the Supreme Court that foreign properties of another 96 Pakistanis have been traced in United Arab Emirates (UAE).

A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar heard the illegal assets and accounts of Pakistani citizens in foreign countries in Islamabad.

The FBR official stated that 360 Pakistanis availed amnesty on 484 properties. Until now Rs 270million has been recovered, however, Rs 768 million is expected to receive soon, he added.

He said that 157 people have not contacted FBR to inform their properties, however, a letter has been written to UAE government to provide the details of these people.

Supreme Court has ordered the FBR to submit its progress report within a month about recovery of assets and amounts illegally accumulated abroad by the Pakistani citizens.
