Police official martyred in firing by drug peddlers in Wah Cantt
An ASI of police was martyred when drug peddlers opened fire at a police party in Wah Cantt.
WAH (Dunya News) - An Assistance Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police was martyred when drug peddlers opened fire at a police party in Wah Cantt area some 30 kilometres to the northwest of Rawalpindi on Thursday, Dunya News reported.
According to details, police conducted a raid to arrest notorious drug peddler Qaisar Rashid in Wah Cantt upon which the culprits opened fire at the police party, critically injuring ASI Riaz.
He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his wounds during treatment. The drug peddlers managed to escape from the spot after the incident.
According to sources, the deceased served in Punjab Police for 24 years. He has left behind a widow, three daughters and two sons to mourn his death.
