Nawaz Sharif is well and in high spirits in jail: Maryam Nawaz
Maryam Nawaz, the daughter of Nawaz Sharif meets him at his jail.
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Former premier Nawaz Sharif’s daughter Maryam Nawaz took to Twitter after visiting him at the Kot Lakhpat Jail in Lahore on Thursday and informed her party’s supporters about his well being and ‘high spirits’.
Reportedly, she remarked that her father was thankful to his party’s workers and well wishers for supporting and believing in him.

Besides, her husband Capt (Rtd) Muhammad Safdar, Hamza Shahbaz and other family members also met the elder Sharif in his barracks.
Other party leaders including former speaker of the National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, MPA Mian Margob Ahmad, former Sindh governor Muhammad Zubair, Khurram Dastagir and Rana Tanvir were also present during their meeting.
On December 24, Sharif was sentenced to seven years in prison after being convicted in the Al-Azizia Steel Mills corruption reference.
The accountability court imposed Rs3.47 billion (USD 25 million) fine on the former prime minister for failing to provide money trail, besides seizure of his assets of Al-Azizia and Hill Metal property.
On the other hand, his sons Hassan and Hussain were declared absconders and permanent arrest warrants were also issued against them.
