Raza Rabbani says NAB chairman will have to inform Senate before summoning any member

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Acting Senate chairman Saleem Mandviwala on Tuesday said that he has asked National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman to inform the Upper House of the Parliament before summoning or releasing any member’s name.

Presiding over the session of the Upper House of the Parliament, the acting Senate chairman said that the NAB chairman has been asked to inform the House before summoning any member.

A letter has been written to Justice (r) Javed Iqbal in this regard, he said and hoped that the anti-graft watchdog chairman would follow his letter.

Speaking on the occasion, Senator Nouman Wazeer said that there was no need to seek the permission of Speaker or Senate chairman if NAB summons any parliamentarian.

Senator Raza Rabbani said that according to rules, if NAB chairman summons any member, he would have to inform the Senate Chairman.
