Cabinet meeting: PM Imran decides not to replace any minister

The premier has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the cabinet.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A special meeting of the cabinet in Islamabad on Monday with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the chair reviewed the performance of each ministry and decided against replacing any minister.

The premier has expressed satisfaction over the performance of the cabinet. He lauded Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Fawad Chaudhry, Murad Saeed, Faisal Vawda and Sheikh Rashid.

In a development, Murad Saeed has been alloted an additonal charge of Federal Minister for Communication.



PM Khan put forward three questions to the ministers which were number of goals attained, money saved through austerity measures and future planning.

He declared bluntly that only that person will remain in the cabinet who will work efficiently and with diligence. "The performance of the ministers will be reviewed again after 100 days," he asserted.

It was decided that each ministry would be further tasked with a specific strategic plan for implementation spreading over five years.



It will ensure that all concerned work is in tandem with optimum output.

The meeting also decided that such review meetings would be held quarterly to judge performance of the ministries, adopt midway course correction where required and to ensure that overall performance of the government is on track.

Cabinet meeting is currently underway from the past eight hours.
