Sugar mill owners agree to start sugarcane crushing from today
The sugar mill owners agreed to start sugarcane crushing from today (Friday).
LAHORE (Dunya News) - After successful negotiation between Punjab government and Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (Punjab Zone), the sugar mill owners agreed to start sugarcane crushing from today (Friday), Dunya News reported.
Addressing a press conference after meeting with representatives of sugar mill owners, Punjab Food Minister Samiullah Chaudhry and CM Punjab spokesperson Shahbaz Gull said that the sugar mills owners will get their outstanding amount of Rs2.9 billion. They also said that the price of sugarcane will be Rs 180 per maund.
Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (Punjab Zone) Chairman Noman Khan confirmed during the press conference that the crushing will start from today. The representatives of sugar mill owners included Chaudhry Zaka Ashraf, Saeed Chaudhry, Aslam Chaudhry, Ali Altaf Saleem and Muhammad Rafiq.
