IESCO disconnects electricity to 56 govt institutions

The spokesman says the offices of Chief Commissioner owed more than Rs28 million

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) on Thursday started drive against defaulters organizations in its circles and disconnected power supply to 56 government organizations for not clearing outstanding dues.

According to the IESCO Spokesman, power supply was disconnected to the offices of Chief Commissioner and TMA Rawal Town for not payment of bills.

The spokesman further said that Capital Development Authority (CDA) owed Rs6.53 million, while TMA Rawal Town owed over Rs21 million.

Giving details of the dues owed to the IESCO, the spokesman said that the office of Chief Commissioner owed more than Rs28 million, while TMA Rawalpindi owed more than Rs21 million.

“As many as 14 connections of Chief Commissioner office, while five connections of TMA Rawal Town have been disconnected,” the spokesman added.
