Khurshid Shah among those grabbing land of Hindu community, SC told

CJP directed to investigate the matter and identify names of land grabbers.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Friday has taken notice of alleged occupation of the properties belonging to Hindu community in Sindh.

During the hearing, the top judge directed the concerned authorities to investigate the matter and identify names of those behind it. Member of National Assembly (MNA) Ramesh Kumar told the court that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Khurshid Shah was also among the grabbers.

It is to be mentioned here that the notice was taken on a video of Professor Dr Bhagwan Devi w/o Professor Dr Baghwan Das, alleging that her lands and properties are being encroached by land mafia by force.

Many Hindus are leaving and migrating to other countries and many others are preparing to sell their properties, she added.

Dr Bhagwan Devi further alleged that the federal and provincial governments are reluctant to take action in this regard.

The court had issued notice to Attorney General for Pakistan, Advocate General Sindh, Secretary Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony, Islamabad, Secretary Human Rights Islamabad, Chief Secretary Sindh, Secretary Minority Affairs Department, Government of Sindh and Commissioner Larakana division for appearance.
