NAB tightens noose around Shehbaz Sharif in Ramzan Sugar Mills case

Over Rs50 million were earmarked for Ramzan Sugar Mills during Sharif's tenure.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on Saturday has started amassing more evidence against Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) president and Opposition Leader in National Assembly (NA) Shehbaz Shaif in Ramza Sugar Mills case.

As per details garnered, the premier anti-graft watchdog has summoned details of funds issued to Ramzan Sugar Mills from Punjab’s Planning & Development Department.

Over Rs50 million were earmarked for Ramzan Sugar Mills for making Banala. NAB has also sought supplementary grant of over Rs20 mln for the sugar mill.

Shehbaz Sharif, who is currently under custody of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) over graft charges, on Saturday underwent medical checkup at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) in Islamabad.

The medical board has advised Sharif to continue his medicine while it also recommended carrying out all necessary tests including CT scan.

On the other hand, NAB has declared Shehbaz’s residence as sub-jail.

Earlier, the medical reports of Sharif have shown resurrection of cancer. According to the report, Shehbaz’s report indicates signs of Chromogranin A (CgA) and his adenoid cystic carcinoma node level was found to be at 688 — the normal level of which is considered to be at 100.
