LHC issues notice to interior ministry on petition seeking to exclude Sharifs' names from ECL
The petitioner prayed the court to order Interior Ministry to provide copies of orders
LAHORE (Dunya News) – Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued notices to Interior Ministry on petition seeking to exclude the names of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and son-in-law Captain (r) Safdar from the Exit Control List (ECL).
LHC judge Justice Mamoon Rasheed conducted hearing of the petition filed by local lawyer Amir Zaheer seeking to exclude the names of the PML-N supremo, his daughter and son-in-law from ECL.
The petitioner raised objection on the inclusion of Nawaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz and Capt Safdar.
The petitioner said that the court had ordered to present a copy of order to put the names in the ECL but the Interior Ministry didn’t provide copies of the order.
The petitioner prayed the court to order Interior Ministry to provide copies of orders to include Sharifs’ names in the ECL.
The court while issuing notice to the ministry adjourned the hearing till January 14.
