ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned the first meeting of the first meeting of National Water Council on October 25 (Thursday) in Islamabad to set water sector targets for the country and resolve inter-provincial disputes.

The meeting will be presided over by the Prime Minister and will be attended by all chief ministers and the federal ministers for water resources, finance, power and planning and development and other officials.

Sources said that the framework for the implementation of National Water Policy will come under consideration during the meeting. The meeting will set water sector targets for the country and resolve inter-provincial disputes.

It is pertinent to mention here that National Water Council was formed after the approval of National Water Policy. The first-ever National Water Policy, which had faced delays for more than a decade, was finally approved in April this year.
