Finance Minister Asad Umar will take cabinet members into confidence regarding negotiations with IMF

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a meeting of the federal cabinet today (Thursday).

According to details, advisor to PM, Dr Ishrat Husain briefed the cabinet about progress of 100-day plan of the government and the withdrawal of the notification regarding cancellation of prohibited arms license.

Formation of high powered committee for the resolution of the Karachi problems, issues of LNG terminals, matters regarding government employees and foreign trips of ministers, public servants and appointments of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of Earthquake Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Authority (ERRA) were discussed in the meeting.

Moreover, Finance Minister Asad Umar took cabinet members into confidence regarding negotiations with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and approval to the cabinet committee decisions over CPEC.

Earlier, on Wednesday, adopting stance parallel to that of his finance minister, PM Imran Khan stated that Pakistan might not have to approach International Monetary Fund (IMF) as consultation with ‘friendly countries’ was underway.
