Tharparkar Deaths: CJP orders brisk provision of food, water to desert dwellers

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Supreme Court on Tuesday has rejected Sindh government report on infants’ death in Tharparkar and ordered to dispatch truckloads of food and water for the drought hit populace.

While hearing the suo moto case, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar reprimanded Sindh Government rejecting the report as "mere formality work". He also served notices on Sindh Chief Secretary, health minister and Sindh Population Welfare Department.

CJP Saqib Nisar has also hinted at setting up an independent committee for oversight of the issue.

Furthermore, CJP directed Sindh government to submit recommendations for improvements of dismal situation of hospitals in Thar within ten days.
